Okinawan Kobudo

Our weapons class explores the fascinating world of Okinawan martial arts, focusing on the techniques and applications of six distinct weapons. Students will delve into the long staff known as the Bo, the sickle-like Kama, the short club called the Tonfa, the piercing Sai, the paired Nunchaku, and the unique Eku, learning the proper handling, fundamental strikes, blocks, and forms (kata) associated with each weapon. Through dedicated practice, students will develop coordination, discipline, and a deeper understanding of Okinawan weaponry and its rich history.
